CVE

Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures — a standardized identifier assigned to a publicly known cybersecurity vulnerability.

When a new vulnerability is discovered, it's typically assigned a CVE ID (like CVE-2024-12345) so security teams worldwide can reference the exact same issue consistently across tools, reports, and patches.

Want to actually work with CVE? This concept is covered hands-on in our Penetration Testing / VAPT program — not just defined, but practiced.
